Amber Michelle Woodruff

At-Large Board Member

Amber Woodruff joined the Village Education Foundation’s board in 2017. As a strong advocate for early childhood education, Amber has taught Kindergarten, 1st, and 3rd grades in both public and charter schools in Washington, DC. For her leadership both in and out of the classroom, Amber has served as Lead Teacher, Mentor, and Close Reading Literacy Facilitator. Amber holds a bachelor of arts from Spelman College and master of education from George Mason University. Amber currently serves as the Associate Director of the Capital Teaching Residency, providing high-level, general oversight of KIPP DC’s talent pipeline programs. When Amber isn’t working, she can be found reading cook books, planning vacations, or boarding a plane. Amber currently resides in Washington DC with her husband, William, and pet turtle, Donna.
